Adjustment to Practice
I organize and analyze results from a variety of assessments to determine progress toward intended outcomes and use these findings to adjust practice and identify and/or implement appropriate differentiated interventions and enhancements for students.
I regularly use:
- Higher order thinking questions during project Introductions
- Regular (usually daily) check-ins with students
- Individualized instruction
- Homework critiques
- Progress critiques
- Final critiques
- Extensive notes to students in Aspen gradebook
- Weekly review of progress based on quality of homework
I give written feedback to individual students regarding their work.
I revise the daily agendas (posted online and/or in the classroom) and/or the blog-posted lesson to address misunderstandings I noticed in the previous day’s classes.
I spend the majority of most class days, after introducing the context and the lesson and reiterating expectations and objectives, in giving individualized instruction to each of my students.
I review and revise most of my lessons from year to year based on the successes and weaknesses of the previous year.
I email individual students with images, examples, and information to address issues in their more independent work.
I incorporate a variety of assessments to determine students’ strengths and weaknesses, and create new and different ways to convey knowledge and teach skills.
