Professional Collaboration

I promote the learning and growth of all students through ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice. I collaborate effectively with colleagues on a wide range of tasks. I consistently and effectively collaborate with colleagues in such work as developing standards-based units, examining student work, analyzing student performance, and planning appropriate intervention.

Worked with elementary Science and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinators about building interdisciplinary connections into curriculum and working collaboratively with academic teachers.

Work with team of Massachusetts art educators to review K-12 art program of Belmont Public Schools.

Arrange art-focused professional development for the art teachers and others.

Email correspondence with liaison for student on IEP. This was followed up with further emails and in-person conversations.

Frequent check-ins with other department heads regarding content and concerns raised in ILT meetings.

Corresponded with and arranged meetings with out-of-district educators (teachers and administrators) concerning topics of relevance to the Burlington art program -- District Determined Measures, curriculum, class sizes, time

Active participant in Instructional Leadership Team, Administrative Council, VIEW (Diversity and Equity Team), Graduation Requirements Committee, and the town's Sculpture Park Committee.​

Worked on District Improvement Plan with other administrators and curriculum coordinators (Planning for Success)

Worked on High School Improvement Plan with other department heads and high school administrators (Planning for Success)

Facilitated brainstorming session to create an Art Department Wish List to be used in developing an improvement plan for the art department.

Working with our Planning for Success consultant and with art faculty on the district art program’s Improvement Plan

Worked with elementary art teachers and with our district's Science Center to develop art-infused lessons for Pollinator Unit in 4th grade Science

Worked with BHS English teacher colleague and elementary art teachers in developing Winter Display / Art Contest for Town Common for a more inclusive seasonal display in the winter months.

Worked with other VIEW Committee members in developing a school climate survey

Acted as a consultant in a mural being developed by a social study colleague's Feminism class.
